Before your dollars are allocated to any agency programs, United Way volunteers monitor the agencies and funding on a year round basis to make sure local needs are being met and money is well spent.  The money raised stays in Screven County to help local individuals.  Low overhead and fund raising costs mean more services can be provided for local needs.
