Court Procedure
The Court accepts suits in the amount of $1.00 to $15,000.00.
The defendant MUST reside in Screven County in order for the court to have jurisdiction.

After the defendant is served, they have 30 days to file an answer and set up a consent judgment (payment plan) with the court.  Failure to do so will result in:

  • Levy on personal or real property (FIFA)
  • Garnishment on his/her wages (job), (defendant cannot be self-employed)
  • Garnishment on his/her bank account (must have account# or Social Security Number)


The court balances on the first of every month and disburses payments to the plaintiffs.
