Wildlife Viewing Opportunities:
 
Over 11,000 acres of wetlands and varied habitat
types offer excellent opportunities to view
alligators, Mississippi Kites, swallowed-tailed kites,
wading birds, song birds, and furbearers.
 

Camping Opportunities:
 
Primitive camping facilities are available next to
the check station.
 

Fishing Opportunities:
 
Good fishing in the Savannah River, Brier Creek
and 100 acres of oxbow lakes which range in size
from 2-18 acres.
 

Directions from Sylvania to the check station:
From downtown Sylvania take East Ogeechee St.,
5.5 miles, cross Ga. Hwy - 24 on to County Rd.
243, go 4.5 miles, cross three bridges on Brier
Creek, go 0.8 mile to check station, area on left.
